Did you know that if you wash your car at home, you use an average of 75-150 gallons of water? And think about this – if you wash your car at home, all the detergents, chemicals, gas, oil and fuel tank debris gets washed directly into the storm drains, so it eventually reaches the rivers, streams and other bodies of water where it poisons the aquatic life and generally wreaks havoc on the environment.

At Island Car Wash, only about 10-15 gallons of fresh water is used to wash your car. The rest is continually filtered and recycled. And we use only biodegradable, environmentally-friendly cleaning products.

​SPDES Permit Allows you to discharge water into the ground. It specifies the limits of products that can be in the water to meet the SPDES requirements.
